Potential (longshot?) PokerStars sale to former CEO goes sideways. Dwayne Wade stars in PokerStars ad. Sam Trickett signs with partypoker.  And more.

Proposed Amaya sale turns into news of the weird

Former Amaya CEO David Baazov might want to just step back and take a breather. Baazov is already dealing with insider trading charges, but that hasn’t stopped him from making another proposed offer to takepover the company he helped found and raise to prominence, Amaya.

Just one problem, one of the investors Baazov had lined up for the multi-billion acquisition is denying they had any involvement in the bid, or that they even knew what Amaya was.

As Chris Grove put it, “Awkward.”

Quick Hitters

– With Thanksgiving nearly upon us, Team PokerStars Pro Liv Boeree was profiled in the Huffington Post for her contributions to charity through REG (raising for effective giving), which she helped start. The article highlights the $1.5 million REG has raised since it was formed in 2014.

– One of Sam Trickett’s poker goals is apparently to be sponsored by every online poker site. the former Matchbook, Everest Poker, Titan Poker, ambassador for the short lived International Stadiums Poker Tour, has now signed on with partypoker.

– Soccer stars Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. are no strangers to PokerStars’ marketing campaigns, but a new athlete (in a new sport) made his PokerStars debut this week, NBA Champion and future Hall of Famer Dwayne Wade. You can see the ad below.

– There is still some concern that Congress will try to push through an online gambling ban before they pack their bags and head home for Christmas.
